5 Yoga Poses to Improve Body Posture

Sitting at a desk or computer all day takes a toll on more than just your eyes. It affects your posture, metabolism, risk of anxiety or depression and can lead to obesity.

Yoga is a fantastic way to combat the negative effects of sitting at a desk all day and other things that contribute to bad posture. Here are 5 Poses you can practice to improve body posture.

Downward Dog – Adho Mukha Shvanasana, is an inversion asana in modern yoga as exercise, often practised as part of a flowing sequence of poses called Surya Namaskar.

Vrksasana – It is a standing balancing pose. This pose strengthens the leg muscles and helps develop stability. This pose keeps the hip open and stretches the sides of the trunk, lower back and upper back.

Dhanurasana – It invigorates the internal organs, especially the digestive organs, therefore removing constipation. It also stimulates the adrenal glands and the sympathetic nervous system

Bhujangasana – This gentle backbend stretches your abdomen, chest, and shoulders. Practicing this pose strengthens your spine and may soothe sciatica

Warrior II – is a strengthening pose that improves physical and mental endurance. Its ability to stretch your upper legs and ankles while also expanding your chest and shoulders makes it an essential pose
